A man (Jay) late 20’s pulls up outside a house in a mid 90’s car. He waits in the car for a little while and fiddles with his wedding ring. A woman (Claire) late 20’s sits at the table in the kitchen, on her laptop. Radio music is playing in the background. Jay gets out of the car and heads towards his front door. He opens the door and heads into the closet to put his coat away. The sound of energetic typing can be heard in the distance. Jay looks anxious. Claire types ‘be right back just going toilet’ gets up and heads out of the kitchen towards the toilet. Jay stands close to the closet door listening. The toilet door can be heard locking. Jay walks frantically into the kitchen and heads towards the table where the laptop is situated. On the screen a chat session is in progress with someone called Simon. The exchanges are of a tense, sometimes sexual nature. There are arrangements to meet up this evening and at the weekend. Claire will be meeting Simon at his hotel room after his conference. Suddenly the chain flushes. Jay stands still for a second than heads back out of the kitchen and stops in front of the bathroom door waiting. Claire opens the door and starts. Jay moves past her in order to wash his hands. Claire asks when he got back; he replies not long ago. Claire cringes and edges back into the kitchen. Jay stays in the bathroom drying his hands whilst asking about dinner arrangements. Claire tells him she thought he was going out. Jay informs her that his plans have changed and he is going to cook the dinner for them. Claire signs off hurriedly, just as Jay walks in. Claire quickly closes the laptop lid and heads towards the kettle and flicks the switch down. Jay walks towards the laptop and opens it. Claire turns and watches him anxiously as she watches on. She becomes agitated and inquires what he is doing and he responds by asking her where her favorite place is. Claire looks confused but eventually says Cambridge Cambridge
